Coal tar epoxy is a two-component, solvent-free, tar-extended, high-build epoxy coating specifically formulated to provide excellent abrasion and chemical resistance to steel or concrete on horizontal or vertical surfaces, including areas subject to permanent immersion. Once cured, it produces a tough, flexible, chemical and impact-resistant film.
Coal tar epoxy is highly durable and resistant to chemicals, water, and corrosion, making it ideal for use in harsh environments. Commonly applied to steel and concrete surfaces, coal tar epoxy is used in industries like marine, oil and gas, and construction to protect pipelines, storage tanks, and other infrastructure from wear and damage.
Area of application:
- Sewage treatment tanks and pipelines.
- Coatings of drain pipes of aqueous wastes, effluent, and treatment plants.
- These coatings provide below-ground protection to both concrete and metal structures.
- Protection of steel and concrete structures in bridges and chemical factories.
- To provide chemical corrosion and abrasion resistance to concrete surfaces across many applications, such as manhole covers and foundations.
Advantages of coal tar epoxy:
- Solvent-free.
- Easy application by brush, roller, or spray.
- Excellent anticorrosive ability.
- Excellent adhesion to a wide range of substrates, such as concrete, steel, etc.
- It can be applied to both above-ground and underground surfaces.
