Solvent based bitumen primer

Description

Solvent based bitumen primer is a coating used to prepare surfaces for the application of bituminous materials. This primer enhances the adhesion of bitumen-based products to substrates such as concrete, metal, or masonry. It is formulated with bitumen dissolved in a solvent, allowing it to penetrate and seal porous surfaces effectively.

Solvent based bitumen primer dries quickly, providing a stable and adhesive surface for subsequent layers, ensuring a durable and watertight seal in construction projects such as roofing, waterproofing, and roadwork. Solvent based bitumen primer complies to ASTM D 41 standard.

Coverage:

Minimum recommended coverage of solvent based bitumen primer is between 4 to 6 m²/L/coat depending on numbers of coats and surface condition.

Area of application:

• General waterproofing and damp proofing of concrete,brick walls, foundations, asbestos cement sheets, roofing felts, woods.
• Protection of steelwork, pipes and metal.
• Primer coat prior to the application of torch applied bituminous waterproofing membranes.
• Waterproofing in confined areas: bathrooms, kitchen and wet areas.
• Curing compound on freshly cast concrete bitumen primer provides effective waterproof, weatherproof corrosion resistant protective coating.
